Fine & Lost/Damaged Material Charges Policy

Overdue
charges are: $0.20 per day per item, up to a maximum of $5.00 per
item. After the final overdue notice, customers
can return materials and pay the maximum fine or pay for the
replacement of materials (Section 4520), as per Lost
and Damaged Materials. Customers are not charged for the cost of
overdue notification unless the account must be sent
to a collection agency for servicing. Lost and Damaged Materials
Replacement costs: For materials that are lost or damaged
beyond repair and can no longer be circulated, customers are
charged the full cost of the item(s). If item is out-of-print
and a cost for the specific item cannot be determined, use one of
the following default prices, according to reading
level, item type, and home location (i.e., collection):
Only customers who admit responsibility for
damaging video cassettes will be charged the replacement cost as
found in the price field or the default amount.
Customers are charged per item that needs replacement according to the following list: Handling Fee for Non-Sufficient Funds Checks (NSF). A $25.00 non-sufficient fund handling fee will be charged for returned checks by the bank.
