1. The purpose of the security gates is to deter theft of library materials.

2. All customers must exit the library through the security gates unless otherwise directed by library staff.

3. All library staff members share in the responsibility of responding to the alarm.

4. Always give the customer the benefit of the doubt if there is any possibility that the attempted unauthorized removal of library materials is unintentional. The primary goal is to prevent the loss of materials.

5. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
