Renewal of  Circulating Materials Policy
Approved:
Advisory Committee
Date:
5/90
Section:
4250
  1. Most circulating materials can be renewed for one additional three (3) week period.

  2. Reserved materials for which there is a waiting list and any items that have a hold placed on them by another patron cannot be renewed.

  3. Branch Librarians are responsible for determining the renewal policies for new books, "short-circ" materials, and other high demand items.

  4. Materials can be renewed by telephone if the patron has the book in-hand and can answer questions about the material that is needed by staff to make the renewal. Patron must be able to provide the author and title as listed on the book's circulating card pocket, and the last due date stamped on the pocket.

  5. Renewal of interlibrary loan materials is at the discretion of the loaning library. Interlibrary loan staff will contact the loaning library to determine if an item can be renewed and the length of time for which it can be renewed.
