Library Happenings
by Avis

The Summer Reading Program is over!  We had lots of fun and now it’s time to go back to school!  We had a great pizza party to wrap it all up.

We have drawn the winner for the children’s program – Carmen Llamas.  She has a nice prize waiting for her at the library.  The adult prize went to Christine Suchomel – a $25 gift certificate to Walmart.

At our August adults program we made pendants.  We had quite a variety and LOADS OF FUN – and it was all free!

The adult book discussion will be on Saturday, August 21 at 9am.  The book, Horse Soldiers, written by Doug Stanton, will grab you from the very first page!  Stanton, a journalist, recreates a riveting account of specially trained mounted U.S. soldiers, deployed in the Afghanistan Mountains to fight alongside the Northern Alliance against the Taliban.  This is a book you’ll be glad you took the time to read.  Come and enjoy the discussion – and refreshments!

The children’s program is scheduled to begin again in September.  More details to follow!
